KidREACH

KidREACH is a program supported by World Vision International that partners faith based organizations and elementary schools to provide one on one academic mentoring.
Would you like to make a difference in the life of one child? Would you like to connect with one family in our city? This is your opportunity! We are in need of mentors and substitutes on Thursday afternoons from 3:30-5:00 p.m. Please join us as we partner with Crestwood Elementary and World Vision to assist with homework and mentor these children and their families. Call Linda Galka 627-1660 for more information .
As a mentor, you WILL make a positve impact in a child's life. You WILL make a difference in one family. You WILL make a difference in our community.
VIM Mission Project
VUMC Food on the First
The Food on the First mission started in November 2006. Our original intention was to enlarge VUMC’s food pantry capability. We have bags of food available at all times in the church office for people who are in need of help. We generally give out 6-12 bags a month but some months it is even more. We also take the food out into the community.
This outreach opportunity is offered every month to provide food to the families of Linnell Camp. head the mission and organize the donations, collection, purchasing, and bagging of groceries.
The last Friday evening and Saturday morning of each month is spent bagging, loading and delivering food to the families. There are plenty of opportunities for volunteering.
For more information, please call Carol and George Allen 733-7518 or Rob and Vivian Moeller at 635-9535.
Extend The Table
On the first Sunday of the month we send teams of people out to those who are unwillingly absent. Our need has grown and our people have served wonderfully. Because of the growing number of people who wish to receive the Lord’s Table we need to form more teams.
You would serve once every other month. Few things are as rewarding as giving the sacrament of communion and hospitality to those who need it.
We need your help and you need this opportunity to be a blessing to others. Contact Kelly Deditius for more information 627-1660.
Visitation Ministry
A team of people visit those in the hospital and new people who come to church. Please contact the church office to find out how you can participate 627-1660.
