United Methodists share a common heritage with other Christians: conviction that God has mercy and love for all people; belief in a triune God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; faith in the mystery of salvation through Jesus Christ; celebration of the sacraments (Baptism and Holy Communion). Four guidelines which help us understand our faith are: Scripture, tradition, experience, and reason.
United Methodists come in all sizes, shapes, colors, dispositions, outlooks and life stories, but share a unique history and faith perspective. Our members speak many languages and live in many countries.
No matter how or where they serve Jesus Christ, United Methodists do God’s work in a unique structure—referred to as “the connection." The United Methodist Church is a "connectional church," which means our churches are connected by a system to guide our work and govern our policies, through our clergy appointment system, our mission and outreach. This also allows us to pool our resources so that we may more effectively work together and be in ministry throughout the world.
OUR VISION: To minister to the families of Visalia. Meeting them at the point of their greatest needs and providing the hope of Jesus for renewal in their family. We offer sensible and practical programs to help families heal and be strengthened. As we move into the future we seek more avenues to increase our impact on the families of Visalia.
OUR MISSION: Our mission is to Know Christ and Make Christ Known. By this we mean that all of our ministries whether studies, worship, mission or small groups are dedicated to guiding people into a deeper relationship with Christ and then living out the results of His forgiveness and Grace in our lives.
We are Embracing Visalia by loving families for Christ…
