ResearchMatch is a Clinical and Translational Science Awards (CTSA) initiative funded by the National Center for Research Resources, part of the National Institutes of Health. It is a national web application to provide potential research subjects a method to self-register personal information for inclusion in a recruitment database. Submitting information in no way obligates you to participate in research studies, but may result in one or more contacts by phone or e-mail assessing your interest and suitability for research trials.
Clinical trials test certain medical treatments to determine their safety and efficacy. As a potential research subject, you should be aware that there are benefits and risks associated with participation. Before participating in any trial or should study, you should: 1) be adequately informed of the study and be given an opportunity to ask any questions you may have; 2) know that participation is voluntary and that you may withdraw participation at any time; and 3) understand and sign an informed consent agreement - a document that gives detailed information about the study.
