Clinical Practice Guidelines: Choledocholithiasis

CLINICAL PRACTICE GUIDELINES (FULL LIST)

Choledocholithiasis

Clinical Practice Guideline (CPG) for consultation and workup of suspected choledocholithiasis. The treatment of choledocholithiasis requires both evaluation and clearance of the common bile duct (CBD) and cholecystectomy. The primary reasons for the development of the guideline were to simplify the consultation process, decrease the number of diagnostic tests and procedures (ie, MRI and ERCP), and shorten the length of stay. Input was received from Pediatric General Surgery, Pediatric Radiology, Pediatric Gastroenterology and Adult Gastroenterology /Advanced Endoscopy services. The guideline was based on the recently published Pediatric DUCT score and proposes a Surgery-first approach to choledocholithiasis.
