Ansley Kunnath
Ansley Kunnath is an M.D./Ph.D. student in the Vanderbilt Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP). She has a Bachelor's degree in Cell Biology and Neuroscience from Rutgers University. Her research interests include neuroplasticity, cross-modal reorganization, and audiovisual integration in cochlear implant users. She aims to characterize neural changes in adults with hearing loss and explore how we can use this information to predict cochlear implant outcomes and develop novel treatments. She is leading a clinical trial investigating the effects of donepezil on speech recognition, cortical activation, and cognition in cochlear implant users. Ansley's career goals are to treat patients with hearing disorders as an otolaryngologist and run an auditory neuroscience lab. Outside of the lab, Ansley enjoys cooking Indian food, swing dancing, playing the ukulele, and teaching her cats new tricks.
