Jonathan Brett Heimlich, MD, PhD
Dr. Heimlich is a board-certified cardiologist and physician scientist. His research leverages large scale databases as well as novel single cell genomics techniques to better understand how acquired DNA mutations affect cardiovascular health. Clinically, he is interested in caring for patients with cardiovascular complications associated with cancer treatments. His research is focused on understanding how acquired DNA mutations affect cardiovascular function, with a particular interest in atherosclerosis.
Dr. Heimlich completed medical school at the Medical college of Georgia and did his Internal Medicine residency and Cardiology fellowship training at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Dr. Heimlich joined the faculty in the Department of Medicine Division of Cardiovascular Medicine in 2024.
