Joshua Carl Smith, PhD

Joshua Smith is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biomedical Informatics. He received his PhD in Biomedical Informatics at Vanderbilt University working under Dr. Randolph A. Miller. His dissertation research is focused on data-mining and natural language processing as it relates to adverse drug effects (ADEs) and ADE-related decision support. Josh also has an MS in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where his studies focused on data-mining, information retrieval, and mobile health applications.
