Michael J. Ward, MD, PhD, MBA
Michael J. Ward, MD, PhD, MBA is Assistant Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Dr. Ward attended medical school and obtained his Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from Emory University in 2006. At the University of Cincinnati, he completed a residency in emergency medicine where he served as a Chief Resident in 2010, and completed a three-year operations research fellowship. He subsequently completed his PhD in Operations Management in 2016 through the University of Cincinnati. Dr. Ward is a practicing emergency physician whose research interests include improving the quality and efficiency of healthcare delivery for patients with emergent clinical needs. He was a previous K12 Scholar from the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) and is a recipient of a K23 Career Development Award from NHLBI.
