Sandhya Bangaru

Graduate Student

Sandhya Bangaru is a graduate student in the department of Pathology, Microbiology and Immunology at Vanderbilt, mentored by Dr. James E. Crowe. She obtained her masters in Biotechnology from New York University, developing a more stable human Interferon-beta protein. During her masters, she also worked on HIV vaccine design at IAVI. She came to Vanderbilt as a part of Vanderbilt International Scholar program (VISP) and Interdisciplinary Graduate Program (IGP) in 2012. Currently her study involves isolating and characterizing human monoclonal antibodies developed against newly emerging human Influenza strains and determining their cross-reactive potential.
