Landry Slaughter grew up all over the United States, living in 6 states before she was 12, but has called Franklin, Tennessee home since 2010. Landry graduated from Belmont University with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and a minor in mathematics. Along with pursuing her Doctor of Pharmacy degree, she is also obtaining her Master of Management in Health Care. Since joining Vanderbilt in 2021, Landry has enjoyed learning about administrative and clinical pharmacy operations. Her work in the OR Pharmacy entitled Medication Excipient Review for Patients with Alpha-gal Syndrome was published in the September-October 2021 edition of Inpharmation. She is a member of the Diabetes and Glycemic Oversight Committee and completes the committee's severe hypoglycemic event analysis for the adult hospital. She presented Implementation of Quarterly Severe Hypoglycemic Event Analysis at a Large Tertiary Academic Medical Center at the American Society of Health System Pharmacist 2022 Midyear Clinical Meeting & Exhibition in Las Vegas, NV. Her work through the Vanderbilt Program in Interprofessional Learning, Increasing Eating Disorder Screening in an Adolescent Primary Care Setting was presented at Society Adolescent Health and Medicine 2023 Annual Meeting in Chicago, IL. Most recently Landry was selected as the intern program's first Lead Intern. Landry has a passion for people, excellent pharmaceutical patient care, and research, as well as interest in critical care, emergency medicine, and administration. She is looking forward to completing her Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experiences and applying for residency this fall.
