Dana Kan, M.A., NBCT
Dana graduated from Vanderbilt University's Peabody College of Education in 1997 with a Bachelor's degree in Special and Elementary Education. She received her Master's degree from The Ohio State University in 1999 in Educational Services & Research. She worked for Cobb County Schools near Atlanta, GA and is a National Board Certified Teacher. Most of her career was spent teaching a self-contained, auditory-oral early childhood classroom, although she also taught elementary and high school students with hearing loss as well as general education first grade. Dana is currently a Ph.D. student in the Department of Hearing & Speech Sciences and works with the Master's in Education of the Deaf program. Her primary research interest is vocabulary acquisition and developmentally appropriate practice in young children with hearing loss.
