- Recommendations from academic and work related experiences are considered professional. Only three references will be evaluated with your application; additional references should not be sent.

SELECTION PROCESS
After review of all submitted applications by the Admissions Committee, qualified applicants are granted a phone interview with the Program Director. Top candidates are offered a subsequent interview with faculty and staff. The following criteria is considered in the evaluation of all applicants:
- Overall GPA
- Completed pre-requisite coursework GPA
- Reference scores
- Interviews
- Professional Potential (comprehensive rating of the applicant's overall preparedness)
The top 5 applicants are offered admission and the next 5 applicants are offered an alternate position for that same year.
*The Admissions Committee reserves the right to request additional interviews.
The VUMC-DMS Program does not accept incoming academic or experiential credit.
