Abbey Smiley, MD

Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine

Dr. Smiley grew up in Lexington, Kentucky and completed her medical degree at the University of Louisville School of Medicine. She then went on to complete her emergency medicine residency at The Ohio State University and her fellowship training in Emergency Medical Services at the University of Massachusetts. She is dedicated to patient advocacy, and actively involved in the American College of Emergency Physicians, formerly serving as a resident member of the Ohio ACEP Board of Directors, EMRA Board of Directors, as well as serving as a member of various ACEP national committees. Her academic interests include EMS and resident education, addiction medicine, geriatric emergency medicine, and the delivery of more equitable and affordable healthcare through the development and implementation of community-based mobile health interventions. In her free time, she enjoys traveling the world, hiking, skiing and spending time with her friends and family.
