Nick Warren is the Assistant Director of Federal Relations for Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Based in Washington, DC, Dr. Warren collaborates with many departments, centers and experts across the medical center to engage federal agencies on issues impacting VUMC's patient care, research and medical education missions, including by developing institutional public comments to agency rulemaking.
Prior to joining VUMC, Dr. Warren served as an Associate Director of Regulatory Science and Policy for the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) where he led engagement with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Engagement work with FDA included organizing public workshops, conference sessions, perspective articles, and public comments on drug development, clinical research, and tobacco control policy. He also supported broad public policy initiatives at the association, including work on cancer screening, cancer survivorship, and securing robust investment in medical research.
Dr. Warren earned a PhD in cancer pharmacology from Dartmouth College and a BS in biochemistry and molecular biology from the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire. In his free time, he enjoys hiking, camping, skiing, and playing a variety of percussion instruments.
