Our excavations, in collaboration with the American School of Classical Studies at Athens, the Center for Hellenic Studies, and the University of Maryland, would offer students in the fields of biological or medical history, paleoepidemiology, biological anthropology, and genetics an opportunity to pursue collaborative research using human remains from archaeological contexts. The contribution of my program to Vanderbilt students in medical, health or biological sciences is a deep historical perspective on questions of health and society relevant to human society today.
