Multi-Component HIV Intervention Package for Chinese MSM

This NIAID-funded R01 project is to develop and pilot test a package of Test and Link-to-Care (TLC)-based HIV interventions for reducing HIV risk among men who have sex with men (MSM) in Beijing City, China. It includes two Phases:

1. Promoting HIV testing: By partnering with local CDC and gay community, we will use Short Message Service (SMS-I) Interventions through QQ Group (QQ.com) and cell phones, community outreach, web advertisement, and peer referral and snowball strategies to recruit MSM in Beijing for taking HIV testing in 4 CDC clinics.

2. Randomized clinical trial of HIV Linkage-To-Care Intervention. HIV-infected MSM from Part I will be enrolled in the clinical trail. Those in the Comparison Arm will receive Standard of Care (SOC) of HIV linkage and care that is available in the study site; Those in the Intervention Arm will receive SOC plus we will use SMS (SMS-II) and 5 or more sessions of peer delivered counseling interventions to link them to HIV or other care in a timely manner.

By June 2015, two datasets from the Phase I and Phase II Baseline should be cleaned up and ready for analysis. Dozens of topics could be considered for analysis and publication. We welcome students with data analysis and manuscript writing skills to work with us to publish manuscripts.
