Neekar Rashid

Neekar Rashid is a Research Assistant II who joined VISPR in January 2023. She performs all processing procedures in the lab, trains new personnel on all laboratory procedures, validates new methodologies and updates existing methodologies, regularly communicates with collaborators regarding study details, develops SOPs for new hires on all the studies that the lab focuses on, and conducts regular meetings with delegates to provide feedback. 

Neekar received her undergraduate degree in Kurdistan, Iraq, and moved to the United States, where she received her bachelor’s degree at Middle Tennessee State University, majoring in Biochemistry. She is currently working on her master’s in public health. Neekar has five years of research experience, combining laboratory and clinical-based research.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending quality time with her family. She has three sisters and three brothers. She also enjoys painting, outdoor adventures with her two young kids, and hiking with her husband.
