About our speaker: Jerome M. Adams, MD, MPH, the 20th Surgeon General of the United States, is a board-certified anesthesiologist and served as Indiana State Health Commissioner from 2014 to 2017. Dr. Adams has worked on issues ranging from HIV to health insurance coverage throughout his career as a physician, associate professor, board leader, and health commissioner. His motto is “better health through partnerships.” In his role as Surgeon General, Dr. Adams has worked to bring attention to America’s opioid crisis, and recently issued an advisory emphasizing the importance of the overdose-reversal drug naloxone.
