Aung Soe Lin (Sai)
IGP Rotation Student
Sai is a first year graduate student in the IGP program at Vanderbilt University. He is originally from Myanmar. He graduated from Berea College, KY with a major in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. He participated in the summer program at Vanderbilt University, under the supervision of Matthew Tyska in 2012 and worked on how bacteria affect the structure of microvilli in colon cancer cells. Then, he participated in research at the Whitehead Institute as a summer student at MIT, and performed screening of protein aggregates in different strains of yeasts collected from different resources and then validated if those aggregates are true prions. He is currently rotating in Dr. Georgiev's lab.
