Gwen Jordaan
Gwen earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology and Master of Science degree in Biochemistry at California State University Long Beach. She has over eight years experience working in academic research laboratories at the VA Greater Los Angeles, California State University Long Beach and University of California Irvine where she acquired experience in molecular biology, protein purification and cell culture working on projects in cancer and HIV research. Additionally, she is a co-inventor on a provisional patent where she contributed to the development of a biomolecule prototype capable of removing heavy metals from contaminated samples. During the past two years she worked in biopharmaceutical manufacturing of CAR T-cell therapy for patients with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and Mantle Cell Lymphoma. Gwen joined the Georgiev laboratory in 2022 and is looking forward to contributing to the research in the laboratory. Outside of the laboratory, she enjoys studying aromatherapy, running and hiking.
