Maria del Pilar Quintana

Pilar received her Biology Bachelor and Biochemistry Master from Universidad Nacional de Colombia and then a Ph.D in Medical Science from Karolinska Institutet. She is now an Assistant Professor at the Centre for Medical Parasitology, University of Copenhagen, and a visiting faculty at Dr. Georgiev’s lab where she will continue her work studying the immune response against malaria antigens as a tool to guide the design of new preventive and therapeutic measures to control this disease. Outside the lab she enjoys running, knitting and baking.
