CKD patient use of patient portals
EHR patient portals allow patients secure access to their health information and facilitate communication with the healthcare team via online messaging. While patient portals can help engage and support patients with chronic diseases, they may also reinforce existing disparities in care due to inequities in internet access (i.e., the digital divide). We will describe the type and frequency of EHR portal use and examine correlates and associated outcomes.
