PANDORA

PIPT and CKD in Older Adults (PANDORA)

An increasing percentage of older Americans suffer from chronic kidney disease (CKD). Patients with CKD are also more likely to experience complications like acute kidney injury (AKI) and hospitalizations, which can affect their prognosis. Data indicates that quality of life, symptom burdens, social support, frailty, and disability are associated with disease outcomes in patients with CKD. More information about these variables in a critically ill CKD population could improve understanding of factors that affect physical function and physical health. The goal of this study is to examine the effect of cognitive behavioral physical therapy on physical function and physical activity.
