Each Scholar’s preparation, including an individualized development plan, will be guided by an interdisciplinary Research Advisory Committee (RAC) comprised of:
- A Clinical Research Mentor proficient in clinical/ translational research in heart, lung, blood or sleep (HLBS) disorders
- A T4 Translational Research Mentor with methodological expertise in those aspects of implementation science relevant to the Scholar
- An ImpleMentor – an operational leader to advise on real-world implementation strategies and challenges in the Scholar’s desired clinical or community context
- Dr. Sunil Kripalani (PI) and/or Dr. Christianne Roumie (PD)
Primary mentors will be chosen for their research and mentorship experience and could be either an HLBS Research Mentor or T4 Translational Research Mentor. Scholars will work with the PI and PD to develop the most appropriate RAC. The V-STTaR program leverages strong transdisciplinary collaboration among the Vanderbilt University Schools of Medicine, Nursing, Management, and Engineering and College of Arts and Sciences to offer a diverse pool of exceptional mentors.
