The AAMC announced a new publication titled Implementing Curricular and Institutional Climate Changes to Improve Health Care for Individuals Who Are LGBT, Gender Nonconforming, or Born with DSD: A Resource for Medical Educators. This was developed to provide education about the health needs of individuals who are LGBT, gender nonconforming, and/or born with DSD, and the role of academic medicine and the health care system in supporting these populations.
Kristen Eckstrand, PhD and Vanderbilt MD candidate Class of 2015 serves as Chair of the Advisory Committee on Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity, and Sex Development and is a lead editor of this special report. Kristen and her team were recognized at the Annual Meeting in Chicago.
