The U.S. News & World Report’s “Best Hospitals” and “Best Children’s Hospitals” reputation survey is expected to open in mid-February. The survey is conducted on Doximity, an online communications platform exclusively for clinicians.
3 things to know
- The survey is open to licensed MDs and DOs with registered Doximity accounts and who meet certain board certification criteria.
- Doximity users who are eligible to vote will be notified that the survey is open to them when they log onto Doximity and with a message to the email associated with their account.
- The survey typically opens in mid-February, first to a small percentage for testing purposes and then to the complete list of eligible users. We expect the survey to be open about 4 weeks. We'll update the page as we know more about this year's survey.

Doximity is an online networking platform that enables clinicians to connect and communicate with each other, among other features. For several years, Doximity has managed online access to the reputation surveys and is now the only way clinicians can participate.
Doximity creates profiles for every licensed physician in the United States using publicly available data. These profiles are viewable to the public on Google and other search engines.
These profiles also sync automatically with the public doctor directory on USNews.com. Doximity profiles also are the source of any provider-level data, like board certifications, that influence the rankings.Doximity membership is also open to other licensed health care providers. However, only MDs and DOs with certain board certifications are eligible to vote.

Doximity creates profiles for licensed health care professionals, including all physicians in the United States, from publicly available data. These data may not be correct.
You should correct and complete your profile because:
- This online profile supplies data for the doctor directory on USNews.com. It is available and tends to rank high in public search engines. Correcting errors helps assure that patients, peers and referring clinicians find accurate information about you online.
- U.S. News & World Report relies on Doximity for provider-level data that influence the rankings. Certain errors, like board certifications, may negatively impact VUMC's and Monroe Carell's overall rankings.
- It's not a choice to be included on Doximity; your choice is to make sure your data reflect you, your expertise and your practice correctly. If eligible, you also have the opportunity to influence the rankings through the reputation survey.
