Michael R. Richards, MD, PhD, MPH

Michael R. Richards, MD, PhD, MPH, was a University of Pennsylvania postdoctoral researcher within the Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics and Wharton School from 2013 – 2015 and has been a faculty member of Vanderbilt University since his time at Penn. He has carried out a variety of empirical studies on health policy and economic topics, with his primary research area involving health care provider responses to payment policies, regulation, and industry trends. He completed his PhD training at Yale University prior to joining LDI and was awarded his MD and MPH degrees from the University of Illinois immediately preceding his PhD studies. Recently published or forthcoming work can be found in the New England Journal of Medicine, Medical Care, Milbank Quarterly, Health Economics Policy & Law, Health Services Research, Health Economics, and the American Journal of Health Economics.
