Designation Announcement and Related Info
On November 16th, 2006, at 10 am, the ANCC called… “Vanderbilt Hospitals and Clinics have been designated Magnet by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.” We joined an elite list of less than 5% of the nation’s 6,000+ hospitals that have met this rigorous approval process. We were the first hospital in Middle Tennessee named Magnet.
This great news was a reflection of the quality and dedication of everyone working at the Medical Center. It starts with the person-to-person connections that each of you make with our patients and grows from there to an environment of multidisciplinary collaboration. Literally thousands of staff members spent untold hours, late nights, early mornings and weekends to prepare us for the major phases of the review process. Most important are the nurses, other staff members and support personnel who deliver and support quality care on a daily basis.
Report from the Appraisers
After we received Magnet designation, the appraisers who visited on site sent us their report. The report consisted of glowing observations describing the details and commentary associated with their visit. We think you will enjoy learning about Vanderbilt and your peers this document.
