Yes. Due to insurance and provider licensure regulations, all visits to the Vanderbilt Nutrition clinic require a provider referral to schedule an appointment. If you have specific questions about your insurance coverage, we recommend calling your insurance provider for more detailed information. For questions about private pay, please contact our clinic.

Masks are now optional for most patients, visitors, and employees in our hospitals and clinics. We ask that you respect others’ choices about masking. Some patients, including those with respiratory infection symptoms, will be asked to wear a mask.
We continue to ask that you avoid visiting or accompanying a patient if you have symptoms of illness. We also ask that you continue to wash your hands or use hand sanitizer when you enter or leave a patient's room.

We ask that you check with your insurance company before your visit to ensure they cover for our services. We bill for " Medical Nutrition Therapy", billing code 97802. The Nutrition Clinic also bills under the hospital as the provider (Vanderbilt Hospital Outpatient Charge). If your insurance does not cover for our services, please give the clinic a call at 615-936-3952.
