Lauren Tetz, PhD
Lauren Tetz earned her PhD in Toxicology from the University of Michigan, School of Public Health in 2012. During her doctoral work, she examined the influence of the environmental toxicant, di-2-ethylhexyl phthalate on oxidative stress and inflammatory responses in human placenta and extra-placental membranes. In her current research, she is working to develop an organoid model of the human extra-placental membranes as a tool to investigate the influence of bacterial pathogens, toxicants, and pharmaceuticals on inflammatory processes in these tissues.
