Vanderbilt University Medical Center has built a strong reputation as a national leader in medical education, research and patient care over the course of its 135-year history. At its heart, the Medical Center is driven by discovery and the immediate incorporation of new knowledge into innovation in patient care and physician and nurse education.
As part of the continuing efforts to maintain excellence in all areas related to the mission of the Medical Center, Vanderbilt has constituted an external Biomedical Sciences Advisory Board (BSAB) comprised of scientists selected from across a broad spectrum of expertise and institutions.
The BSAB is charged with annual review of the biomedical research enterprise; the critiques and feedback received from this distinguished group inform Vanderbilt’s strategic approach to advancement of research in drug discovery, personalized medicine and all areas related to understanding and improving human health.
