Weekly conferences
Alternating medical and surgical conferences are held for one hour each week. These are attended by retina fellows and retina faculty, as well as rotating students. During these conferences the fellows present challenging medical and surgical cases, while the faculty join in on collegial discussions to provide their tips and perspectives on management.
Quarterly journal clubs are held, often at faculty homes, in a warm environment to discuss the latest research and key publications in retina.
National and International Meetings
Our fellows are encouraged and supported to attend national conferences are meetings. These include the following:
- 1st year: MEEI Vitrectomy Course, Duke Fellows AVS, ARVO
- 2nd year: ASRS, AAO, Fellows Forum
Beyond these fellows may also consider attending Vit-Buckle Society, Retina Society, and other meetings of interest. Faculty encourage and mentor fellows on research projects for national presentation.
