Congratulations to Yazen Shihab, the recipient of the 2023 VEI URiM Visiting Student Diversity Scholarship!
The Vanderbilt Eye Institute URiM Visiting Student Diversity Scholarship provides support for one visiting medical student who is underrepresented in medicine or from a diverse background who may not otherwise be able to participate in a rotation at the Vanderbilt Eye Institute due to financial limitations. Scholarship recipients will receive a $2,500 stipend while rotating at the Vanderbilt Eye Institute in July, August, or September.
How to Apply
Students interested in the scholarship should complete the Scholarship Interest Form. Interested students must still submit a formal application for a visiting rotation through VSLO (Vanderbilt Visiting Medical Student Rotation Information) to be considered. All applicants must apply and be approved for a rotation through VSLO to be eligible to receive this stipend.
