Dr. Celeste Ojeda Hemingway is an Obstetrician-Gynecologist specializing in Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology with a career focus in graduate medical education. She currently serves as the Residency Program Director for the Obstetrics and Gynecology residency program at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. As the residency director, Dr. Hemingway has focused her efforts on curricular design, developing novel approaches to procedural skills acquisition with simulation and optimizing longitudinal learning experiences with on-demand resources. She has also championed competency-based evaluations for procedural performance, adopting mobile software tools to facilitate assessment and feedback for trainees. Dr. Hemingway currently serves on the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG) exam development team and as a board examiner for certification.
Dr. Hemingway was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. She moved to Nashville to start her education and has called Nashville home ever since. She completed her undergraduate degree (BS) in Chemistry and Molecular Biology and her Medical Doctor (MD) degrees at Vanderbilt. Dr. Hemingway completed her residency in OBGyn at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and joined the faculty as the Assistant Residency Program Director on completion of her training. In 2013, she completed her Masters of Health Professions Education (MHPE) at Vanderbilt.
