Lymphatic Surgery

Lymphedema can cause painful swelling in arms and legs after trauma or cancer treatment. Complete decongestive therapy including compression therapy and manual lymphatic drainage performed by a certified lymphedema therapist is the current standard of care to manage symptoms. However, there are different surgical options such as immediate lymphatic reconstruction (ILR), lymphovenous bypass (LVB) or vascularized lymph node transfer (VLNT) to prevent or treat this devastating lifelong disease that can help minimize pain and reduce swelling. Our surgeons work closely with your other doctors to create a treatment plan that is right for you. We are one of only a few programs to offer this treatment for lymphedema. Our team applies the latest research and surgical techniques to provide the most current, advanced treatment available.
