Vanderbilt Microsurgery Course

Course Description:

This intensive three-day course is designed for trainees seeking to develop proficiency in microsurgery, specifically focusing on vessels 1.5 mm or smaller. The course curriculum encompasses:

  1. Basic handling of micro instruments and fundamental suturing techniques.
  2. End-to-end anastomosis of the rat femoral artery and vein.
  3. End-to-side anastomosis techniques.
  4. Vein graft techniques.

The course employs a live rat model and is structured on the renowned Louisville course and Acland videos. Instruction will be provided by experienced Microsurgery faculty with extensive clinical backgrounds.
