Dr. Chaya actively participated in the Conflict Medicine Program at the Global Health Institute of his university. His work centered around understanding the biological, psychological, and social implications of injury and trauma resulting from war. He collaborated with organizations such as Doctors Without Borders and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) on projects related to non-communicable diseases and humanitarian medicine in the MENA region.
