Corporate Health Teams Adapt to Meet Greatest Needs

Members of the Corporate Health Services, Corporate Health & Wellness, and Executive Health & Wellness teams have taken on new responsibilities to meet critical needs for our patients and employees during the COVID-19 pandemic. “The team has creatively pivoted to new roles and been willing to go where the need is greatest,” says Terry Parker Horn, RN, CCM, Director.

Corporate Health & Wellness’ Laurie Williams, RN PRN, initially assisted with COVID-19 testing for Vanderbilt Health and Williamson Medical Center Walk-in Clinics in Franklin and Cool Springs. As testing volume decreased, she served as a contact investigator for Vanderbilt Occupational Health, making follow-up calls to employees who were exposed. Laurie is now working full-time at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt taking employees’ temperatures and assisting with N-95 respirator mask fittings.

Registered Dietitian Kim Vair, MS, RD, LDN, with the Executive Health & Wellness team converted her nutrition and health coaching consultations to phone and telehealth.  She has stayed connected to her clients, sending MHAV messages to assure them the team is here to help them navigate the crisis. A “calm in the storm,” Kim also sends out frequent wellness tips and videos to her clients and to the larger team.
