The Vanderbilt Health Employer Solutions team often provides COVID-19 vaccine readiness education to area employers. Though most training is done virtually to limit the spread of infection, Nashville-based DesignWorks Collective recently requested that the team come in person to not only present updates on the pandemic, but also to give COVID-19 vaccines and boosters and flu shots to employees.
Ana Nobis, MD, MPH, Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine and Occupational Health physician at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, presented the latest COVID-19 information to DesignWorks Collective employees at Nashville and Antioch warehouses. “She connected in a very meaningful way to both English and Spanish-speaking workers,” said Donna Skupien, RN, Vice President of Growth and Innovation for Employer Solutions.
DesignWorks Collective CEO Joe Moore got his booster in front of his employees after the presentation. “The turnout for vaccines was more than double what was anticipated,” Skupien said. DesignWorks is a collective that includes Paddywax Candles, Candle Bar, Olivina, Gentleman’s Hardware, Stay Golden and Good Citizen coffee, and Firefly Candles.
