HealthPlus programs and services are now offered in virtual formats to improve access to content that promotes a healthy lifestyle.
Providing virtual programming allows HealthPlus to navigate the shifts in various work patterns to meet the needs of employees at the time and the format most beneficial to them. In fiscal year 2021, HealthPlus had more than 19,000 VUMC virtual contacts –a 43% increase from the previous fiscal year.
Health Plus offers many programs and services in virtual formats to promote healthy lifestyles in the Vanderbilt community, including:
- Go for the Gold—Identify health risks, take action to reduce those risks and earn a yearly Wellness Credit.
- Step Challenges—Compete with colleagues or just have fun recording your steps to celebrate health and a chance to win great prizes.
- Know Your Numbers—Track weight and body mass index.
- Mindful Breaks—Relax and rejuvenate with guided stretching and breathing.
- Online Workouts—Choose from a variety of online workouts to get active.
- Healthier You Presents—View presentations on a variety of health and well-being topics.
- Lifestyle Coaching—Engage in personal lifestyle coaching to help you find motivation and learn tools to reach your health goals.
- TASTE—Eat delicious food, save money, and minimize your time in the kitchen with this ten week practice July-September.
- Nutrition Corner—Make healthy eating simple. Each month includes a practical new topic and easy, delicious recipes.
- Spring into Summer—Celebrate good health during the summer season with this weight maintenance program.
- Hold the Stuffing—Celebrate good health during the winter with this weight maintenance program.
- Control is the Goal—Manage blood pressure in this Health Plus program.
- Diabetes Prevention Program—Participate in a proven, year-long, small group program to prevent or delay type 2 diabetes by developing skills to lose weight, be more physically active, and manage stress.

- How to Stay Healthy and Productive While Working Remotely—Stay healthy, productive, and engaged with life when working remotely.
