Turning back the clock and losing an hour of daylight can take a toll on our mental health. Combine that with the weariness that many are feeling in month 21 of the COVID-19 pandemic, and it becomes clear that it’s critical to prioritize our mental health.
VUMC’s Work/Life Connections–EAP has many programs to support individuals and work groups in their psychological and spiritual health. The EAP offers free and confidential individual coaching and counseling to all VUMC employees and their spouses. Employees can also find spiritual and pastoral care through the Touchstone Program, a 3-minute virtual service of affirmation to remind us of the connection between who you are and the work that you do. You can learn more about the available resources here.
Another helpful resource is Well Moment, a space where the community can learn from and talk directly to Vanderbilt Health and other regional health experts about pressing health and wellness issues. Launched in 2021, Well Moment webinars have covered topics such as cyberbullying, anxiety in children and adolescent gender identity. All Well Moment recordings and additional resources are available at wellmoment.org, where you can also track upcoming webinars.
