Preceptors play an integral role in onboarding our newest Health Care Professionals. Research shows that strong preceptors are an essential component in adapting to new work environments, competency development, and job satisfaction. The goal of the VUMC Preceptor Program is to create a learning environment that fosters professional and personal growth, engages preceptors, and reduces preceptor burnout. VUMC professionals who are interested in gaining new knowledge about the role of the preceptor, or refreshing their precepting skills, can participate in a number of activities offered throughout the year. Targeted for Health Care Professionals who are or will be in the Preceptor role, with or without Preceptor experience; elective programming for VUMC Staff.
