About the Speakers:
Mariah Smith, MD is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychiatry in the VUMC Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. She joined the department after completing fellowship training in Addiction Psychiatry at New York University School of Medicine. Dr. Smith is the clinical director of Vanderbilt Premier Recovery Program (VPP). In addition, she serves as Physician Lead at Vanderbilt Psychiatric Hospital’s Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for Substance Use and Mental Health. Dr. Smith also serves on the Addiction Consult Service at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She is passionate about integrating substance use treatment and fully assessing mental health symptoms to provide complete treatment for an integrated approach to care.
Abigail Richison, MD is the current Addiction Psychiatry Fellow in the VUMC Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. Dr. Richison attended the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) for medical school. She joined VUMC after completing her Psychiatry Residency training at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences
