SUNBEAM is an abbreviation for the official study title: Systems Biology of Early Atopy. Basically, it means that researchers are observing pregnant women and their babies, looking for factors that put young children at higher risk for food allergies and eczema.
Samples collected from home, such as water and dust. Other samples, such as blood, hair, and saliva are collected in clinic from mother, baby, and potentially father. At Vanderbilt University Medical Center, our OB and Pediatric departments are teaming up, looking for pregnant women in the Nashville area to join our study; and we need your help!
