Peter Reese, MD, PhD, FAST is Professor of Surgery and Medicine and inaugural Director of the Vanderbilt Center for Transplant Science. He is a board-certified transplant nephrologist. His research applies tools from epidemiology, clinical trials and bioethics to solve leading problems in solid organ transplantation. His research portfolio focuses on: a) developing effective strategies to increase access to solid organ transplantation, b) reducing complications of transplantation, such as infections, c) testing strategies to improve important health behaviors such as medication adherence, d) determining outcomes of health policies on vulnerable populations with renal disease, and e) transplant ethics.
