Katherine Fielding, PhD, visited Vanderbilt November 3-5th, 2015 to engage in discussions with the Vanderbilt Institute for Global Health and the Vanderbilt TB Center. Dr. Fielding is a Reader in Medical Statistics and Epidemiology and the deputy-director of the TB Centre at the London School of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene.
Her research focuses on the design of intervention studies and evaluation of interventions to reduce the burden of tuberculosis (TB), particularly in settings of high HIV prevalence. she has a strong interest in the cluster randomized trial design and has published widely in that area.
Dr. Fielding presented at the November TB Center meeting on a cluster-randomized trial in China that evaluated the effectiveness of electronic reminders to improve TB medication adherence. The published manuscript from this trial can be found here.
