Frequently Asked Questions
-
Vanderbilt Telemedicine is a secure, interactive video system that connects you with doctors and other providers over the internet. It lets you visit a provider without having to travel outside your community. The visit is similar to meeting face to face: You can see and talk with the provider, and the provider can see and talk with you.
-
Convenience is a big reason. Vanderbilt Telemedicine makes access to specialty care much more convenient for you. For example, you don’t have to miss work or pay to travel. Family members can more easily join in as well. Vanderbilt Telemedicine also allows your provider to see your medical history. This can reduce the risk of duplicate tests or unnecessary procedures and improve the quality of your care.
-
Your telemedicine visit will be billed and paid for the same as a face-to-face visit, unless your health care provider tells you otherwise.
-
You check in at the office just as you would for a face-to-face visit. A nurse then takes you to a special, private room. In this room is the video equipment that lets you talk with your provider.
-
Go to the office address provided to you when you scheduled your visit. Arrive 15 minutes before the scheduled time so that we can check you in and get the video room ready.

If you need to cancel or reschedule your visit or if you have questions, call the number that was given to you to schedule your visit.
