Karen graduated from the University of Tennessee with a baccalaureate degree in Biology in 1978. She then attended the University of South Carolina and graduated summa cum laude with a B.S. in Nursing in 1991. She has over 10 years as an intensive care nurse. Karen joined the Department of Thoracic Surgery in September 2007.

 Megan Gardner, BSN, NP
Megan graduated from Austin Peay State University in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She completed the Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program at Vanderbilt University in 2008 with honors. Her nursing background includes thoracic surgery, critical care, and general medicine. She joined the thoracic surgery team in October 2008.

 Breanne Osborne, PA
Breanne graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She completed her Masters in nursing in 2003 from Vanderbilt University. Her nursing background includes neurosurgery, critical care, trauma, cardiac, and thoracic surgery. She joined the thoracic team in August 2003.

 Kristin Werking, BSN, NP
Kristin received her bachelors in nursing from Greenville College in Illinois and earned her Masters from Vanderbilt University School of Nursing. She has worked as an emergency room nurse, hospitalist and trauma nurse practitioner prior to joining the Thoracic Surgery team in September of 2009.
