Cardiac Cath Lab, Ground Floor, VWCH

Hello and welcome to my unit!

I am Ogechi Harrison, BSN, RN, Clinical Coordinator of the Cath Lab. We are located on the ground floor of the North Tower at Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital (VWCH).

The environment in our unit is fast-paced, and caring, but can be unpredictable based on emergent cardiac needs.  We are collaborative with the other members of the interdisciplinary team.

We care for adult patients eighteen and over that are diagnosed and treated for coronary artery disease, active heart attacks, chest pain, and heart failure.

Our patients are unique because they often have a variety of cardiac diagnoses, each needing specialized cardiac care.

One of the perks of working in my unit is the amazing teamwork from different healthcare professionals.

We consist of Nurses, Cardiovascular Technologists, and Radiology Technologists.

Our nurses are successful because they have extensive nursing knowledge, critical thinking skills,
the initiative, and are committed to our patients.

We orient nurses to our unit by using the preceptorship experience and provide each nurse with a
minimum of a 12-week orientation.

We encourage professional growth.

If your career goal is to further your professional career, Cath Lab can help by enhancing your critical care and thinking skills and going to the next level of leadership.
