Jensine A. Russell, DNP, RN, NE-BC
Director of Practice Excellence
Jensine Russell came to Vanderbilt in 2018 as the 8 North Adult Medicine Patient Care Manager. Under her leadership, in July 2020, 8 North successfully transitioned to the Pulmonary Medicine Stepdown Unit. In the Fall of 2022, Jensine followed her passion for improving nursing care through Evidence-Based Practice by accepting the Director of Practice Excellence position in the Office of Nursing Excellence.
Jensine received her BSN from Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan. Her nursing career began at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) Medical Center where she progressed into multiple leadership positions. She earned her MS from the UCSF School of Nursing and her DNP from the Vanderbilt University School of Nursing. Jensine is a Nurse Executive Board Certified nurse.
Jensine is an avid baker who uses the PDSA model to improve her tasty treats.
